YES, it's the season of joy and good cheer, which means that it's the time of the year when we brave the cold weather and show off all our fabulous little party numbers that have been laying low in our closets. If we don't already have them or just feel a new outfit is in order then this is the season with good reason to go shopping! It's hard to resist popping into the shops after staring at the beautifully fitted mannequins in the seasonally fitted display windows.
If you have failed to notice or just haven’t made it to the shops yet, the word on the streets is 70’s.
Fashions have gone back to the 70's in a big but more updated way. There's glitz, glitz, and more glitz in all the colours you can think of. Everything is sequined - even knickers and bras. Trousers, tops, skirts and dresses in various styles - all are sequined. If glitz is your thing you’ll definately find something out there and in all sizes too.
The shops to go glitzy in no particular order - Topshop, Oasis, Miss Selfridge, River Island, Dorothy Perkins, Etam, Monsoon, Hobbs and Wallis.
Finishing Touches
So you have your glitzy outfit, now you need the accessories to match. Hats, shoes, bags, belts, hair clips and earrings are must have items with which to complete the look. Remember not do over do it with the accessories. If your outfit is heavily sequined use plain accessories. If the outfit is plain jazz it up with glitzy bits.
