New Year / New Man
5 Tips in the art of seduction.
Blackflair has the answers when it comes to finding a new partner.
- Make eye contact
Make sure you make plenty of eye contact, but don’t stare longingly into his eyes.
Eye contact during conversation shows we’re interested in what we’re hearing and sends
positive signals to the other party.
- Touch
Humans bond by touching and a little touch now and again during conversation may bring
him closer. If your touching is reciprocated, then chances are he is interested
also.
- Be aloof
Whoever said playing hard to get doesn’t work? Once you’ve got his attention,
stop paying him so much mind. If he knows he’ll have to work that little bit harder
to make you his partner, he’ll appreciate you more later.
- Talk
Engage him in conversation. Get to know him, what he likes and what his friends are
like. There’s no point in going further if he won’t meet your exacting standards,
he doesn’t challenge you mentally or you despise his friends.
- Research
Maybe this should have been number one. See what’s out there before diving in.
Sound out your girlfriends, male friends and their girlfriends and male friends without sounding desperate.
Your friends know you better than you think and probably
know someone who’s right for you.
Good hunting!
It’s Christmas which means lots of cool parties, fun to be had with friends and time
spent with family. There’s also the office party to get through with your career and
sanity intact.
The office party is one of those rare occasions which, disguised as a bit of fun is
actually a career and relationship minefield. Here’s Blackflair's guide to getting
your groove on this Christmas.
Don’t work the room
Most cheap career guides will tell you this is the ideal opportunitity to network with
company managers and get yourself noticed. It isn’t. These managers have spent the
last 12 months tightening their stress valves managing the work of yourself and your
colleagues. This is their opportunity to play hard. The last
thing they’ll want is to talk shop with you.
Avoid the office lech
Ergh, you’ve seen him. He’s been looking at you all year. A glance here, a long
leering lecherous stare there. Now after a few free drinks he’s plucked up what
looks like the courage to try and make a pass. Don’t let him.
He may be feeling brave, but is he brave enough to approach you while
you’re surrounded by other women. Stay in a group and he’ll soon move on to that poor
girl from accounts.
Get your party on
You’ve avoided the lech and sad souls talking shop. You’ve surrounded yourself with
your friends and colleagues. With a group of friends you’re comfortable and even
agadoo playing can sound good (well ....) so why not make the most of this time to shake a leg. A
Christmas party can also be the ideal place to meet other interesting people in the
company you normally wouldn’t get to speak to during your working day. Remember you’re
not completely out of the working environment so don’t be seen doing anything that could
affect your career later.
