Where do I start with this review? The poor reception, the fact that we had to seat ourselves, the limited number drinks on the menu actually available or on one of two positives on the evening - the delicious food. Our welcome was far from hospitable. The receptionist made no attempt to seat us or even provide a food or drinks menu. The wait for the food was extremely long with no apology offered from the management. This may have been directly related to the fact that it was a large group of us – 14 in all. However, when the food arrived, the long wait finally appeared to be worth it. The food was freshly prepared and absolutely delicious. For starter I enjoyed the grilled fish which was beautifully presented and succulent to taste. My main meal was Egusi Soup with pounded yam. Other dishes we tried included the Jeloff rice with Fried Chicken, Fried Plantain, Yam and Assorted Meats. The portions served were very generous. We passed on dessert as it was quite late by the time we were finishing our main courses. During our visit we were entertained with music videos of African Musicians and Dancers. Klub Afrique also has a dance floor so you are able to dance the night away on Fridays and Saturdays. Klub Afrique gets a two star rating for the food which was excellent and the entertainment. Customer service definitely needs work. Klub Afrique145 - 149 Barking Road London E16 020 7473 3310 Verdict: ![]() Blackflair visits restaurants independently and anounymously. |
